Reblogged from Minerva Rising Literary Journal:
“Perfectionism has nothing to do with getting it right. It has nothing to do with fixing things. It has nothing to do with standards. Perfectionism is a refusal to let yourself move ahead. It is a loop—an obsessive, debilitating closed system that causes you to get stuck in the details of what you are writing or painting or making and to lose sight of the whole.”
I thought this post was a great illustration on how perfectionism can gum up the works. Thanks Kim!

I love this, thanks Helen, and will be heading off to re-blog for myself
oh, I certainly needed to read this one. funny thing is…I have had TWO copies of this book for years and still haven’t read it. maybe it’s a sign
I have that book but I have just never read it mostly because it wants me to do something everyday. In particular write something. I hate that. Weird I know.
That’s not weird at all. I would have a hard time writing something each day. This post was written by a writer.
So glad you posted Kim’s article on the artist’s way. I love that book and course. ANd, your reminders that perfectionism can gum up the works are really helpful! Keep them coming.:)
